Three Seas Initiative, Carpathian Euroregion
Center for Information and Cross-Border Analysis started its activity as part of the first international conference
The first conference opening the Center activities is behind us. Representing our university – Rector prof. Krzysztof Rejman, Dawid Lasek – Secretary General of the Carpathian Euroregion and Konrad Bajdak – Office Coordinator of the Center for Information and Cross-Border Analysis, took part in the first conference on designing cooperation structures with representatives of nearly 23 countries, including China, Finland, Greece, Germany, Austria, Serbia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, Hungary, Italy and Russia.
The purpose of the meeting was to present the vision, goals and basic assumptions of the process of creating structures for inter-sectoral cooperation of public, private and non-governmental entities in the area of the Three Seas Initiative and in neighboring countries. It has been defined and proposed that the cooperation in the first stage will focus on three areas: development of border areas (goal 1), tourism (goal 2), research and development cooperation (goal 3). During the meeting, the processes of creating and implementing cooperative solutions in each of the above areas will be analyzed. There has been an overview of existing pan-European and regional international initiatives. The structure of a strategic project of a horizontal nature for the Three Seas Initiative under the name “3SI CBC information society in border areas” was presented.
The present participants of the conference presented their proposals for combining the vision of cooperation in the strategic review. Then, under the leadership of Dawid Lasek, the participants could jointly discuss the vision of the future – present a new architectural proposal. Subsequently, priorities were identified in the definition of the field of cooperation, and then flagship projects were presented. The key element of the meeting was the participants’ discussion on the presented proposals and the adoption of the work plan by the end of 2021. Then a framework action plan was discussed, which was described in three phases.
There were all kinds of questions and suggestions from participants throughout the conference. During the joint discussion, individual questions of the participants were answered, which made it possible to fully illustrate the scope of future cooperation.
